We are looking for an experienced project engineer for our Coconut Creek and/or West Palm Beach office who is ready to take the next step in their career through advanced training leadership opportunities and hands-on experience both in the field and the office.

As a project engineer you will leverage your engineering and design expertise to support the Coconut Creek and/or West Palm Beach team within our established solid waste practice delivering engineering services to private and municipal clients in the landfill landfill gas compost and solid waste management sectors. You will tackle projects that require innovative solutions for stormwater management industrial wastewater treatment air quality improvement landfill gas systems environmental compliance permitting design construction operations and environmental monitoring.

How you can make an impact

You will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support civil and environmental project work including:

  • Landfill and landfill gas system permitting and design including construction plans specifications and construction documents.
  • Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in solid waste assignment areas and related fields.
  • Manage projects and personnel to meet both client and SCS expectations.
  • Makes decisions independently on engineering or scientific problems and methods plans and coordinate work and represent us at meetings and conferences.
  • Field work in varied terrain and weather will be required including surveys/data gathering construction quality assurance inspections sample collection drilling oversight etc.
  • Office-based tasks include CAD drafting mathematical calculations report writing creating site plans and facility diagrams permit applications etc.
  • Business development including proposal preparation meeting with clients and attending industry related conferences/trade shows.
  • Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
  • Complete quality control reviews on all work products (reports design plans design calculations data etc.) prior to submission.
  • Prepare calculations for reports and in support of design documents as requested.
  • Review laboratory data and prepare compliance monitoring reports.
  • Travel (day trips or overnight 20% of travel expected)
  • Ensure adherence to client and company policies in all activities including health and safety security and ethics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Environmental or Geotechnical Engineering or related major required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant civil or environmental experience required. Consulting experience business specific to the solid waste industry including landfill gas management and design air compliance and landfill design and permitting etc. preferred.
  • Competent with using MS Office and other computer software normally used in environmental consulting.
  • AutoCAD experience is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) required or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Valid drivers license with a driving record in good standing required.

Pay Range

USD $75000.00 - USD $85000.00 /Yr.
