Job Overview:

Manages various EHS programs to ensure compliance with metals recycling/scrap hazardous waste non-hazardous waste (e.g. used oil and absorbents) and wastewater treatment systems for both Terre Haute IN locations.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Drives constant EHS compliance with an emphasis on environmental tasks.
Technical duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining good housekeeping in scrap building hazwaste building wastewater etc.
- Daily scrap management
- Conduct various inspections in compliance with GE standards and regulatory schedules
- Coordinate with vendors to schedule disposal of scrap and waste
- Track waste accumulation dates
- Calibrate EHS equipment and devices
- Conduct daily operations involving the wastewater processes
- Conduct training for forklift operations confined spaces line breaking and advanced electrical
- Complete and retain all relevant documentation/records
- Complete all required trainings relevant to position
Collaborate with peers and support staff for continuous improvement in the shop.
Proficient in all electronic systems relevant to job function (i.e. E-mail MS Office Gensuite etc.).
Actively participates in daily team activities and meetings.
Follow all GE Aerospace Terre Haute policies procedures and requirements.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
Possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Must hold a valid drivers license.
Currently holds a state wastewater certification or must be able to obtain certification within 24 months of start date.
Ability to obtain and maintain RCRA Hazardous Waste and DOT Hazardous Materials certifications within 6 months of start date.
Ability to obtain and maintain Forklift Operators License immediately upon start date.
Strong attendance record.
Commitment to workplace safety quality and integrity of duties performed.
Ability to work OT as needed.
Bachelors degree in EHS is preferred but not required.
