Live Stock Manager

Range Workforce Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Poultry Farmer to join a poultry farming operation.

This position will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day broiler farm operations ensuring bird health welfare and productivity while supporting farm staff contractors and production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the breeding raising and general care of poultry for egg and meat production
• Oversee daily broiler farm operations ensuring bird health and productivity
• Monitor flock metrics using automated systems including feed and water intake body weight and bird performance
• Implement feeding watering and nutrition programs to maintain flock health and performance
• Monitor bird welfare health behaviour and environmental conditions including managing biosecurity risks and farm hygiene
• Implement and audit biosecurity quarantine and vermin control procedures
• Plan and coordinate daily farming operations including egg collection grading and packing livestock handling medication programs and equipment sterilisation
• Administer vaccines and maintain medical and flock health records
• Manage and maintain farm infrastructure including sheds pens feed systems water supply and irrigation systems
• Oversee equipment maintenance feed scheduling shed setups and chick deliveries
• Organise the movement sale and purchase of birds and farm produce
• Maintain accurate farm production records analyse data and plan production activities in line with market requirements
• Oversee farm technology systems and ensure accurate data collection
• Manage farm administration using digital systems and reporting tools
• Manage farm budgeting costs production forecasting and capital requirements
• Coordinate staff and contractor scheduling using workforce software
• Supervise train and support farm workers and contractors as required
• Lead and train staff in poultry husbandry and modern farming practices
• Conduct safety and quality assurance audits and enforce OH&S and animal welfare standards
• Drive sustainability initiatives and manage emergency preparedness

Skills Required

• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Deep understanding of poultry husbandry nutrition welfare and biosecurity
• Strong knowledge of animal welfare legislation and vaccination protocols
• Proficiency using digital farm management systems and automated farm technology
• Strong planning organisational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to analyse flock performance data and implement corrective actions
• Competence operating farm machinery equipment and automated systems
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate teams and contractors
• Knowledge of farm safety requirements OH&S and compliance standards

Experience Required

• Minimum 3 years experience in poultry farming or similar agricultural operations
• Hands-on experience with breeding animal husbandry feeding programs and farm infrastructure maintenance
• Experience supervising or managing staff is highly regarded
• Experience using technology for health monitoring data analysis and automation in farming preferred

Qualifications

• Certificate or Degree in Agriculture Poultry Production or a related field preferred
• Formal qualifications may be substituted with substantial relevant work experience
