Job Summary

USD 480 in Liberal KS is currently accepting applications for the position ofSMRSHead Cheer Coach 2026-2027 School Year

Preference will be given to those candidates who have or are eligible for a current Kansas teaching license (teaching assignment to be determined).

MS Cheer Season is June- March. T/Th Practices.

The Head Middle School Cheer Coach is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the middle school cheer program. This includes planning and conducting structured practices instructing proper cheer techniques choreography and skill development and preparing the squad for performances at games pep rallies and school events. The head coach must collaborate effectively with the assistant coach administration and other school personnel.

Plan and conduct organized practices including conditioning and skill development
Supervise student-athletes during practices games and school events
Coordinate and implement routines cheers and performances
Promote and model teamwork sportsmanship and school spirit
Ensure all safety protocols and district guidelines are consistently followed
Oversee the organization distribution and maintenance of uniforms equipment and program needs
Maintain clear and effective communication with athletes parents and school staff
Demonstrate availability for evening practices and related responsibilities (T/Th 5:30-7:30 PM) throughout the season)
Attend and supervise cheerleaders at all assigned home football and basketball games.
