Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) Stepdown provides specialized care to patients requiring close monitoring but not intensive care. This role involves managing moderately high-acuity patients monitoring cardiac rhythms and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown/Progressive Care setting.
Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to clinical changes.
Administer medications IV therapies and treatments.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and care planning.
Collaborate with physicians and care teams for coordinated treatment.
Float to similar units as needed based on patient care requirements.
Document patient care using systems such as Epic Systems.
Maintain compliance with safety and clinical standards.
Active RN license (state-specific or compact required at submission)
Minimum 18 months of recent Stepdown experience (travel experience accepted)
Minimum 18 months of prior permanent (non-travel) experience in specialty
Certifications required:
BLS from American Heart Association or equivalent
ACLS from American Heart Association or equivalent
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Preferred Qualifications
PCU / Progressive Care experience
