Pay Rate Range: $25.00 $29.00/hr. (DOE)
Employment Type: Contract (W2 through Tekberry)
Assignment Duration: May 2026 May 2027 (12 months; extension possible)
Schedule: Full-time Monday Friday (8:00 AM 5:00 PM; occasional off-hours support as needed)

Overview
Tekberry is seeking a Quality Technician II to support advanced optics manufacturing operations for our client in Fairport NY. This role focuses on quality disposition product and material documentation review and ensuring compliance with quality standards in a high-precision production environment.
The position reports directly to a Quality Supervisor and serves as a key liaison between Quality Engineering Operations and Procurement. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented data-driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting continuous improvement and customer quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities
Quality & Compliance
Ensure product quality meets established specifications and requirements
Review and validate product and material documentation prior to release
Maintain compliance with internal quality systems and manufacturing standards
Non-Conformance & Disposition
Disposition and transact production events related to non-conforming parts and materials
Support containment and corrective action activities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues
Data & Process Management
Maintain accurate and timely updates in quality systems and databases
Monitor quality metrics and support reporting activities
Drive process control discipline and continuous improvement initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as liaison between Quality Engineering Operations and Procurement
Support plant safety initiatives and quality objectives
Assist with training and communication across teams
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
Associate s degree 2 years of experience in a technical manufacturing/production role
OR
High School Diploma/GED 5 years of experience in a technical manufacturing/production role
Required Skills
Experience working in manufacturing or production environments
Strong Microsoft Office proficiency
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Excellent cross-functional communication skills
Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly
Preferred Qualifications
Quality Control experience in a manufacturing or technical environment
Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards
Experience interpreting procedures and work instructions
Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)

Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Effective communication across all levels of the organization
Adaptability in a dynamic fast-paced manufacturing setting
Ability to support training and knowledge sharing

Standard 40 hour workweek
