Position Summary:
Tuuci is seeking an experienced Sr. DFM and GD&T Lead to ensure products transition from engineering design into accurate manufacturable production-ready documentation. This role owns production 3D models cut lists and exploded assembly documents; leads DFM/DFA reviews; validates GD&T and tolerance stack-ups; owns DFMEA; and serves as the primary liaison between Tuucis U.S. engineering team and the Tuuci Asia Engineering team.
This role is critical to translating design engineering intent into documentation the factory can build right the first time. The ideal candidate combines deep GD&T expertise strong DFM discipline and the ability to drive documentation quality standardization and cross-functional alignment.
Location & Reporting Relationships:
This position is based in Miami FL and reports to the Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager within the Manufacturing Engineering team. The role works closely with the New Product Engineering team the Sr. Mechanical Engineer (CNC/Tooling) the Manufacturing Methods Manager Quality Assurance and the Tuuci Asia Engineering team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Own all production 3D models across Tuuci product families ensuring accuracy completeness configurability and revision control
- Create and maintain exploded assembly documents and cut lists that clearly support production service and technical documentation needs
- Establish and enforce 3D modeling standards configuration rules design table structure and file management practices for high-variant products
- Lead formal DFM/DFA reviews for new products and significant engineering changes evaluating manufacturability assembly efficiency materials finishes and cost drivers
- Validate GD&T across production drawings ensuring datum schemes tolerances and inspection methods align with manufacturing capability
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis for critical assemblies and drive design corrections before release to production
- Establish gold-standard drawing practices aligned with ASME Y14.5 including inspection-ready callouts and consistent datum strategy
- Own all DFMEA reviews maintain DFMEA documents throughout the product lifecycle and drive design-risk mitigations to closure
- Serve as the primary liaison with the Tuuci Asia Engineering team assigning work reviewing deliverables and approving documentation before release
- Own DFM and Manufacturing Transition activities ensuring all documentation DFM review outputs GD&T validation and DFMEA actions are complete for Production Readiness
- Drive part standardization across product families to reduce complexity and improve manufacturing consistency
- Coach engineers through drawing reviews stack-up analysis and DFM/GD&T best practices using real product examples
- Communicate technical requirements clearly across U.S. engineering Tuuci Asia quality and manufacturing teams
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; equivalent experience considered
- 1220 years of mechanical design experience in high-mix manufacturing environments with significant drawing and documentation responsibility
- Expert ASME Y14.5 GD&T capability including datum strategy geometric tolerancing and tolerance stack-up analysis for complex assemblies
- Advanced SolidWorks proficiency including configurations design tables parametric modeling large assemblies and drawing package management
- Strong DFM/DFA background spanning CNC machining fabrication finishing/coating and assembly
- Demonstrated experience conducting DFMEA reviews and driving actionable design improvements from FMEA outputs
- Experience managing remote or offshore engineering teams and maintaining quality standards across time zones
- Proven ability to improve documentation quality and completeness under schedule pressure without creating bottlenecks
- Strong cross-functional collaboration with product design machining fabrication assembly quality and supply chain teams
- Practical understanding of how drawings and models translate into real manufacturing operations
- Experience with configurable products modular platforms and high-variant product structures preferred
- Familiarity with metrology and inspection planning tied to GD&T preferred
