Were seeking an experienced Estimator & Bid Manager to join our Nelson team. Youll lead the development of content for tender submissions working alongside management and the Contracting team to produce quality tender submission that set us apart from competitors and ensure continued this role youll often be tasked with translating construction methodologies staging and sequencing of works into clear benefitsfocused narratives that are easy for evaluators to assess. You will also be required to assist with pricing inputs in accordance with the tender plan created for each project.

• Write and edit compelling accurate attribute responses for tenders proposals and EOIs aligned with evaluation criteria
• Analyse tender documents to understand requirements scoring and client drivers
• Structure and format responses to maximise clarity and ease of evaluation
• Tailor and maintain content libraries and templates to ensure relevant consistent bid content

• Monitor market trends research where market is heading and advise the business on the portfolio of forward opportunities
• Prepare estimates by calculating various statistical data such as quantity take-offs
• Set-up tenders using computer-based estimating and cost control software
• Participate in post tender negotiations and provide supporting analysis and management of identified risks
• Utilising operational understanding to problem solve whilst providing best value tender responses
• Identifying potential commercial advantages opportunities and risks in the tendering process and communicating findings with relevant stakeholders
• You will also contribute in any other duties or projects that are reasonably requested

• Professional writing experience e.g. bids/tenders or similar
• Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to produce clear succinct and persuasive content
• The ability to interpret complex documents such as tender or contract requirements and respond logically and clearly
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy consistency and quality
• The ability to work to tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word familiarity with PowerPoint and basic document formatting/layout.
• Experience in electronic tendering and pricing systems is desirable but training will be provided
• Previous estimating experience ideally in roading and contracting
• Knowledge of the roading and contracting project management industry and New Zealand marketplace
