Technical Instructor, Power

POSITION SUMMARY

The Technical Instructor Power is responsible for delivering technical training for field technicians installers customers and service partners on Vertiv Power Services products. These products span electrical and mechanical disciplines and include UPS Systems Energy Storage Solutions Building & Cabinet Power Distribution and future emerging technologies within the Power Services portfolio.

Perform training of field service associates customers and service partners on all UPS power and monitoring systems. Responsible for preparing conducting and evaluating technical training programs. Write literature and materials to be used in training programs and design exercises to enhance lectures. Conduct classes regarding safety installation programming maintenance and repair of software machinery and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Two year electrical/electronic technical degreeor equivalent training/field experience.
2. 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical and/or mechanical installation commissioning or field service within data center industrial or commercial environments.
3. Strong working knowledge of electrical power distribution systems including switchgear busway/busbar UPS and Energy Storage infrastructure.
4. Excellent written & verbal communication skills with an emphasis on presentation and facilitation skills for both the classroom and lab environments.
5. Knowledge of and experience with adult learning theory and principlesor equivalent military trainer experience.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical content clearly to adult learners.
7. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and work independently.
8. Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite and virtual training platforms (e.g. Microsoft Teams).
9. Positive attitude adaptability and comfort operating in a fast-changing product-launch-driven environment.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

While performing duties of the above jobs the associate is regularly required to stand walk use hands and fingers handle or feel objects tools or other components; reach with hands and arms; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; talk hear and smell. The associate frequently is required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distant vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must have ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds.

TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED

• 10% travel expected.
