Job Summary
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assesses patient conditionestablishesgoals treatments and care plans in conjunction with the physician patient/family.
- Ensures thatappropriate treatmentis performed in an interdisciplinary fashion consulting with physicians about the impact of physical therapy factors on the patients health status.
- Documentsfindings treatments and other patient information for the medical record.
- Educates patient/family onappropriate careand use of various therapies/exercises.
- Serves asinformation/education resource for patients families and staff.
- Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Technicians.
- Serves as a resource to Physical Therapy staff.
- Provides ongoing education to the Physical Therapy staff.
- Assiststhe director with patient care issues.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- The job holder mustdemonstratecurrent competencies for the job position.
EDUCATION
- Requires aValid and active State Licensure
- Clinical Doctorate (DPT) preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Two years of experience in anout-patientor remotephysical therapy clinic. Experiencewithorthopedics isrequired.
- Experience in remote workpreferred.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current state license.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of physical therapy principles standards and applications.
- Knowledge of clinic policies procedures regulations safety/infection control qualitycontrol.
- Knowledge of how to use physical therapy equipment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
SKILLS
- Skill inappropriate evaluationand treatment of patients.
- Skill in effectively communicating with in-house as well as external physicians and referral sources.
- Skill in using a computer system/EMR to accurately reproduce allappropriate documentation.
- Skill inaccuraterecognition of patient/clinic danger andappropriate fallrisk patients.
ABILITIES
- Ability toestablish/maintain effective working relationships with patients providers and staff.
- Ability to supervise and mentor physical therapy staff.
- Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
- Ability to be a resource to patients and staff.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
- Normal office environment.
- HIPAA compliantenvironment ifremote.
- Some travel within the community.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
- Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal officeand remoteenvironment.
- Some bending and stretching of kneeling squatting overhead lifting.
- Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
