The Registered Nurse (RN) Outpatient Surgery provides pre-operative and post-anesthesia care to patients in an ambulatory surgical setting. This role requires strong clinical skills in patient assessment recovery monitoring and coordination of care in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide pre-operative and post-anesthesia (PACU) nursing care.
Assess monitor and document patient conditions before and after procedures.
Administer medications and manage IV therapy as needed.
Monitor patients during recovery and respond to complications.
Educate patients and families on pre- and post-procedure care.
Collaborate with surgeons anesthesiologists and healthcare teams.
Document patient care using systems such as Epic Systems.
Schedule & Work Environment
Day shifts (8-hour shifts within 6:00 AM 5:00 PM)
Full-time schedule (5 days per week)
Occasional weekend requirement
Outpatient / ambulatory surgical setting
No on-call requirement
No floating required
No scheduling accommodations available
Required Qualifications
Active RN license (state-specific required at submission)
Minimum 1 year of experience in Pre-Op and PACU
Experience in an ambulatory setting preferred
Certifications required:
BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
