Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) Outpatient Surgery provides pre-operative and post-anesthesia care to patients in an ambulatory surgical setting. This role requires strong clinical skills in patient assessment recovery monitoring and coordination of care in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative and post-anesthesia (PACU) nursing care.
- Assess monitor and document patient conditions before and after procedures.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy as needed.
- Monitor patients during recovery and respond to complications.
- Educate patients and families on pre- and post-procedure care.
- Collaborate with surgeons anesthesiologists and healthcare teams.
- Document patient care using systems such as Epic Systems.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Day shifts (8-hour shifts within 6:00 AM 5:00 PM)
- Full-time schedule (5 days per week)
- Occasional weekend requirement
- Outpatient / ambulatory surgical setting
- No on-call requirement
- No floating required
- No scheduling accommodations available
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state-specific required at submission)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Pre-Op and PACU
- Experience in an ambulatory setting preferred
- Certifications required:
- BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
