Position Overview
KRE Security LLC is hiring a professional and highly responsible Armed School Security Officer for a full-time elementary school assignment in Palmerton PA. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe secure and welcoming environment for students staff and visitors.
This is a structured school-based post that requires strong judgment professionalism and the ability to remain calm alert and approachable throughout the school day.
Schedule
- Full-Time MondayFriday (School Days)
- Day Shift aligned with school hours
- No nights
- No weekends
- No holidays (unless otherwise assigned by contract)
- Summers off or reduced schedule depending on school calendar and assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional armed security presence on school grounds
- Monitor and control access at school entrances
- Verify identification and properly screen all visitors vendors and contractors
- Ensure all entry procedures follow school safety protocols
- Conduct regular patrols of hallways entrances and exterior areas
- Support arrival dismissal and student transition periods
- Respond immediately and appropriately to safety concerns or incidents
- Coordinate professionally with school administration faculty and staff
- Complete accurate daily activity and incident reports
- Enforce school safety policies and post orders at all times
- Assist during emergency situations drills lockdowns and evacuations
Requirements
- Current ACT 235 certification (required if applicable to jurisdiction)
- Minimum 21 years of age preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior armed security law enforcement or military experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Ability to remain alert and engaged in a school environment
- Must pass background check and all required school clearances
- Reliable transportation and punctuality required
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
