About the role
You will joining as a senior individual contributor within the finance function responsible for structuring negotiating and implementing refinancing and other financing solutions to support the underwriting reinsurance business. You will work closely with senior management and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective financing arrangements within tight time frames. You will provide specialist expertise in facility structuring counterpart relationships collateral solutions and ongoing obligation management ensuring robust execution governance and sustainability for MS Re

Your responsibilities

  • Manage the negotiation and implementation of re-financing requirements supporting the underwriting reinsurance business and achieving optimum effectiveness within tight deadlines

  • Lead a team of key stakeholders to deliver financing solutions in line with expectations and requirements

  • Collaborate with internal senior management colleagues and other key stakeholders and external banks legal counsels asset managers and custodians to develop strong relationships and deliver results based on understanding requirements and priorities

  • Provide guidance to MS Re in financing and related counterparty bank matters as it relates to insurance firms

  • Negotiation for MS Re with relationship banks and legal teams to agree commercial terms and syndicated loan documentation

  • Identify the appropriate nature of the facility required considering factors such as bi-lateral or syndicated letter of credit or other key terms (non) committed (un) collateralised amount and term bank capacity and allocation price and fees re-financing renewal and extension accordion and flexibility collateral / investment solutions timetabling implementation ongoing resource planning documentation and amendment servicing and obligations.

  • Identifying and recommending collateral solutions liaising with colleagues banks custodians and asset managers.

  • Obligation Management analysing obligations imposed by facility agreements documenting the obligations and providing guidance and handover training to meet obligations on an ongoing basis.

Your profile

  • Significant experience in structured finance treasury or banking with a strong track record of negotiating and implementing bilateral and syndicated financing facilities including refinancing renewals and extensions.

  • Strong technical knowledge of financing structures and instruments including letters of credit committed and uncommitted facilities collateralised and uncollateralised arrangements pricing fees covenants and flexibility features.

  • Proven ability to manage complex financings end to end coordinating multiple internal stakeholders and external counterparties (banks legal counsel asset managers and custodians) to deliver solutions against demanding deadlines.

  • Well developed commercial judgement and negotiation capability with hands on experience agreeing commercial terms and reviewing or negotiating syndicated loan and related documentation.

  • Experience working with insurance or reinsurance businesses or in environments supporting regulated financial institutions with a solid understanding of counterparty and industry specific considerations.

  • Highly detail oriented with a strong governance mindset experienced in obligation management documentation and providing clear guidance to ensure ongoing compliance with facility requirements.
