What youll be working on
- Performs all duties of Corrosion Technician II Position - monitoring preventing and mitigating corrosion in pipelines and related infrastructure to ensure safety State and Federal regulatory compliance and system integrity.
- Investigates and analyzes corrosive conditions for existing and/or proposed facilities
- Performs corrosion control and associated compliance of cathodically protected pipelines compressor stations or plant facilities and other below or above ground facilities etc.
- Proactively conducts pipe-to-soil potential surveys casing-to-soil readings rectifier and bond readings current flows on pipeline and foreign pipe-to-soil readings and all other structures under cathodic protection on a frequency as stated in SOPs or meet regulatory requirements and document in the
corrosion database or other forms records or reports. - Evaluates protective coating condition including internal external and atmospheric systems and make repairs as needed evaluate pipe anomalies and perform remaining strength calculations in accordance with established procedures.
- Reads and interprets pipeline maps as-builts and PLDs
- Actively participates in PHMSA or State regulatory audits. Ensures all corrosion control activities meet DOT PHMSA and company-specific standards.
- Troubleshoots and repairs corrosion control equipment including rectifiers anodes and test stations.
- Understands pipeline internal corrosion mechanisms and related mitigation measures.
- Assists Engineering Department with Rectifier and Ground Bed design.
Who you are...
- Ability to use and maintain small and medium equipment such as forklifts and power tools.
- Advanced short locating ability
- Familiarity with corrosion monitoring tools GPS mapping and data logging equipment.
- Must work well independently and in teams with strong communication and troubleshooting abilities.
- Detail-Oriented: Accuracy in inventory management and documentation.
- Willingness to learn new technical skills and procedures.
- Capable of identifying and resolving equipment or system issues.
- High School Grad / GED
- Valid Drivers License (CDL may be required dependent on vehicle assignment)
- NACE/AMPP CP1 certification of higher or equivalent associates degree in electronics field.
- Excavation Equipment certification may be required
