Wayne Hospital is a Magnet-designated facility that provides exceptional nursing and advanced medical surgical emergency and critical care services for patients throughout the greater Wayne area.
Serving the region since 1957 this 99-bed full-service acute care center is the only one in the Wayne Westland Garden City Canton Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III trauma center and certified by The Joint Commission. The hospital has a long-standing partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a variety of health and communicable disease concerns. This community-focused hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a high-preforming facility in congestive heart failure chronic obstructive pulmonary disease kidney failure and maternal services.
- Required Associates Degree or equivalent Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associates degree or equivalent.
- Required Bachelors Degree B.S.N. or M.S.N or DNP/PhD - if not minimum BSN prepared new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is required to enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within five (5) years required. This is effective April 18 2023.
- 2 years of relevant experience 2 years related acute care nursing experience. Must demonstrate proficiency through competency testing in all nursing areas eligible for floating. Required
- Internal candidates with less than 2 years of clinical experience must be approved by their current nurse leader and the site Chief Nursing Officer. The candidates are to remain a unit-based PRN (casual) employee until they reach 2 years of nursing experience. Required
- LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required Or
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - CANADIAN HEART AND STROKE FOUNDATION Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation Upon Hire required
- CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Endoscopy (exception for Dearborn Farmington Hills Taylor). Upon Hire required Or
- CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Radiology Pre-Op PACU Emergency Care Critical Care 180 Days required
