We are looking for anArtwork & Packaging DevelopmentExpertwho is detaildrivensolutionoriented and creative to join ourDevices Artwork & Packaging team supporting UCBs global packaging network from early development through commercial lifecycle managementbased inBraine-lAlleud Belgiumor SloughUK.

About the Role

As Artwork & Packaging DevelopmentExpert you will lead the development and designvalidation activities for secondary and tertiary (transport) packaging solutions across UCBsportfolio andglobal manufacturing and external partnersnetwork. Your scope will cover the fullend-to-endlifecyclefrom clinical development andhumanfactorsusability studies through submission commercial launch and lifecycle optimisation.

You will also playa central rolein defining and evolving visual identity graphic charters and artwork solutions translating design briefs into compliant high-quality packaging and artwork files that support a wide range of business parallel you willbe responsible tostrengthen processes standards governance and continuous improvement across artwork and packaging development activities.

You will report to the Head of Artwork & Packaging Development andwill be a central role as a recognized subject matter expert and key interface for the defined internal and external stakeholders across Manufacturing Supply Chain Artwork & Packaging Program Leadership Packaging and Devices teams Procurement Marketing Regulatory Affairs and external design or manufacturing partners. You will collaborate in a globalcrossfunctional environment to ensure packaging solutions are robust scalable compliant fit for purpose and sustainable (minimizing environmental impact reducing waste and promotingrecyclability and efficient use of resources)in line with the UCB Global Artwork& Packaging Strategyconcepts.

WhatYoullDo

  • Within the Artwork&PackagingProgram governance structure you contribute with expert authority among peer experts with accountability for highquality development deliverables and activities (while Program Leads act as the central SPOC for crossfunctional oversight).
  • Lead secondary and tertiary packaging development projects from early concepttocommerciallaunchthrough designvalidationvisualidentityactivitiesand industrialisation Trials packaging is part of the scope.
  • Drive development of innovative manufacturable and cost-effective packaging solutions that create patientstakeholdersandbrandvalue.
  • Drivecreation evolution and governance of visual identity graphic charters and artwork deliverables.
  • Ensure development processes SOPs and training materials are in place followed and continuously improved.
  • Identifypackaging features that support patient usability compliance manufacturing efficiency andsupplychain reliabilitycostconsciousness
  • Support lifecycle optimisation initiatives including costofgoods(COGs) improvement and packaging standardisation.
  • Provide technicalexpertisetopackagingsitesand partners supportingtroubleshooting capacity optimisation and technology transfer.
  • Understanding printing techniques and underlying impacts-constraints on branding-packaging development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of global packaging standards guidelines and design platformsandtechnical features.
  • Monitor external trends technologies regulations and standards related to packaging and artwork ensuringtimelyadoption and communication.
  • Supportlong-range manufacturing and packaging strategies including risk assessment and mitigation planning.

  • Bachelorsor mastersdegree in engineering packaging science life sciences or a related discipline.
  • 510 years experience in packaging development within a GMPregulated pharmaceutical environment.
  • Solid project management experience in global cross functional environments.
  • Demonstratedunderstanding of development activities related to secondary-tertiary packaging within manufacturing network across the end-to-end from clinical human factors usability studies submission into commercial launch and later lifecycle.
  • Strongknowledge of graphic design visual identity creation and regulatory labelling requirements.
  • Sustainability knowledge skills (understanding of materials processes and design strategies that minimize environmental impact reduce waste and promote recyclability and efficient use of resources).
  • Experience managing artwork development and external partners (design agencies CMOs) is a strong advantage.
