Be part of a groundbreaking service transforming care for children with complex medical needs. Opening in May 2026 the Complex Medical Inpatient Unit (CMIPU) is a purpose built 21 bed unit designed as a home base for children who require frequent admissions or long term highly coordinated care. This innovative unit brings together General Medical Respiratory Sleep Genetic Developmental and Feeding services and includes children requiring airway and respiratory support. The CMIPU also incorporates the hospitals Long Term Ventilation Unit a highly specialised service providing clinical care education and family support for children requiring long term ventilation via tracheostomy. About the Role As a Clinical Nurse Educator you will play a pivotal role in shaping a new model of paediatric complex careone that prioritises connection continuity and wrap around support for children and their families.
You will be responsible for:
Delivering and evaluating high quality clinical nursing education
Collaborating with the NUM existing CNEs and the hospitals education team
Developing and implementing education frameworks tailored to the new CMIPU
Supporting clinical education across the unit and when required beyond it This is a rare opportunity to influence culture build capability and support a multidisciplinary team delivering relationship based care for children from birth to 18 years.

Strong paediatric or complex medical nursing experience
Demonstrated ability to lead mentor and support staff A commitment to collaborative family centred care Ability to develop and evaluate clinical education programs

- Demonstrated advanced written verbal and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and understanding of NSQHS Standards relating to education
- Knowledge of adult learning principles
