Head of Americas Marine (UK)

• Work closely with Head of Marine Hull and other geographical heads in growing the marine insurance portfolio across the region by developing new relationships and retaining key clients leveraging both new and existing Lockton network offices ensuring alignment with Global Marine strategy.
• Lead major client account negotiations and placement of large and complex marine risks.
• Ensure the accurate and timely placement of marine insurance policies and endorsements.
• Nurture a team of marine insurance professionals to support the Lockton Marine portfolio leading and mentoring the team to success.
• Set performance targets and ensure continuous professional development taking responsibility for the strategic growth of the division.
• Maintain high standards of compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Collaborate with finance claims and legal teams to optimise operational efficiency and service delivery.
• Represent the company at industry events conferences and client meetings
• Support financial budgeting tracking and credit control

• Solid experience in marine insurance brokerage with strong knowledge of global marine insurance markets products and placement strategies.
• Proven leadership management and mentoring experience
• Strong understanding of the relevant classes of business.
• Ability to identify opportunities for business development.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with clients insurers and other associates.
• Professional and tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.
• An understanding of regulatory controls and procedures
• An understanding of and adherence to Lockton standards and procedures.
• Knowledge of the computer desktop software provided by Lockton.
• Knowledge of Microsoft products (Word Excel Outlook) or similar software applications.

The Head of Americas is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clients across the Americas (not limited to the USA) with a focus on H&M Builders Risks and other Marine Specialty role also overseas the day-to-day management of the team and acts as a key escalation point when required.
