About the job

As an integral member of our team you will play a pivotal role in disassembling inspecting repairing assembling and testing Welded Heat Exchanger (WHE) products to bring them up to specification standards. You will have the opportunity to work on Spiral and Compabloc WHE units for our internal and external customers contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization. Currently this is an on-site opportunity for the 1st shift located in La Porte TX.

This opportunity starts as temporary employment with conversion to direct hire upon successful performance evaluation.

As a part of the team you will:

  • Perform equipment receipt uncrate clean strip and tear down units.
  • Inspect repair service test and package following the companys policies SOPs quality standards and Safety guidelines.
  • Work from drawings parts lists blueprints charts tables and graphs to evaluate and assist in estimating repair costs time and materials or parts needed to repair assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Follow the quality plan per job to repair products.
  • Diagnose check and correct mechanical functions through adjustments using various tools and approved repair methods.
  • Complete Service Reports with pictures notations and recommendations.
  • Move material inside and outside the shop as needed.
  • Recognize and communicate the need for replenishment of supplies tools repair parts and other facility needs to supervision in a timely manner.
  • Keep work area and surrounding equipment clean and organized. Perform housekeeping as required at the facility to maintain a professional presentation 5S.
  • Paint pack crate and document shipment of units parts and materials.
  • Occasionally perform field service work (not frequent or required).
  • Actively and positively participate in ALPS meetings and improvement initiatives.
  • Perform work in other areas (SEP & PHE) as needed to level workload.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Management.

What you know:

You have a high school degree or equivalent with relevant experience and:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a manual repair/workshop/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating forklift trucks hand pallet jacks and overhead cranes.
  • Previous Tig/Mig/Stick welding experience desirable.
  • Concern for Excellence Committed to the achievement and maintenance of quality; sets high standards of performance for self and others.
  • Customer Service Orientation Concerned to provide a prompt efficient and personalized service to clients; goes out of the way to ensure that individual customer needs are met.
