About: Joining the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) as a Mental Health Advanced Practice Provider with the Horry County Detention Center offers a unique opportunity to provide impactful patient-centered care within a secure and underserved population. This hybrid role combines both in-person and telehealth services allowing you to deliver comprehensive mental health support while maintaining flexibility in your practice. Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with current licensure or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina.

• APRNs will be PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health NP)

• Must have a least 6 months of Mental Health APP experience

• Currently licensed (or eligible) in the state of South Carolina as a Physician Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners or as a Nurse Practitioner with the SC Board of Nursing.

• Requires certification in ACLS

• APRN or PA must maintain licenses certifications CNEs/CMEs etc. as required by applicable policies and state law

• DHEC and DEA license

Position Highlights:

• Flexible hours (Combination of remote and onsite)

• Outpatient (18 years - death)

• Perform comprehensive mental health evaluations to determine the appropriate level of care for the patient. Will include management of psychotropic medications and all care needs.

• Evaluates and treats on the basis of history physical examination radiological laboratory and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline

• Initiates referrals to other health care provides and/or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physician

• Documents and bills for direct care provided

• Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student; and facilitates the learning of other new team members
