Job Summary

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that aerospace products meet all quality regulatory and customer requirements. This role supports manufacturing processes by implementing quality systems driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as AS9100 aerospace quality management standard and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop implement and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures for aerospace manufacturing.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 aerospace quality management standard ISO 9001 and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audits (customer regulatory and certification bodies).
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) using tools like 8D 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams.
  • Review engineering drawings specifications and work instructions for quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with production engineering and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics (scrap rework defects yield).
  • Support supplier quality activities including qualification audits and performance monitoring.
  • Participate in First Article Inspection (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 first article inspection standard.
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of materials and processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Manufacturing or related field.
  • 25 years of quality engineering experience in aerospace or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 aerospace quality management standard and aerospace regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with inspection tools GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and quality tools (SPC Minitab etc.).
  • ASQ certifications (CQE CQA) preferred.
