TheLab Support Technician (LST I) is part of the provider care team acting in a support capacity for reports data and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for providing accurate timely and effective provision of laboratory support. The LST I will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service with all internal and external customer interactions. The LST I is responsible as required for the skillful acquisition of laboratory specimens for testing utilizing safe accurate effective professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies. The LST I will be responsible for all processing transport and referral of all types of laboratory specimens and reports as order for the co-worker to achieve the competencies of the LST I position they must be observed by laboratory management or designee and complete all departmental checklists for the LST I duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission values and Mercy Service Standards.Position Details:

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certifications: BLS within 6 months of hire
Other: Successful completion of probationary period No active disciplinary actions or active performance improvement plans
Preferred Education: College level Chemistry Biology or other Science courses
Preferred Experience: Previous experience in a clinical laboratory
