JOB TITLE:
Botany & Biodiversity Intern
JOB PURPOSE:
Botany & Biodiversity Intern in the Williams Conservatory and Biodiversity Institute
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will be expected to work in indoor and outdoor growing environments performing manual labor: Weed removal; Miscellaneous plant care in greenhouse and outdoor settings;
- Data collection;
- Assist with workshops and tours;
- Assist with the installation of public displays;
- Assist in leading volunteers;
- Assist in updating publicly accessible teaching materials.
COMPETENCIES:
Attention to Detail
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate in a public setting
- May be required to work flexible hours including some weekends
- Ability to work independently after receiving proper training
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Botanical or horticultural experience preferred
