Supports and is responsible for incorporating into job performance the Frederick Health (FH) mission vision core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the FH Compliance Program including following all regulatory requirements and the FH Standards of Behavior.
Example of Essential Functions:
Performs a wide range of routine and complex procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
Uses various chemicals and equipment for processing embedding microtomy immunohistochemistry and special stains.
Routine and complex testing is performed according to Laboratory standard operating procedures to insure that the pathologist has adequate tissue slides for diagnosis.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Must possess excellent organizational analytical and problem-solving skills in order to successfully coordinate daily operations of the histology lab. Must demonstrate critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced change-oriented environment. Ability to manage resources to provide effective and efficient results within the Histology area.
Minimum Education Training and Experience Required:
Bachelors degree AND successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histology program.
ASCP certification as a Histology Technologist (HTL) required.
