Job Summary
Saint Josephs College located in Standish Maine invites applications for a founding Executive Director of a School of Business. This is a full-time position on the SJC campus. Salary and faculty rank are commensurate with experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader to create a new School of Business and help shape the future of the Colleges on-campus and online business programs through new curricula and innovative educational models. The ED of the School of Business will be a change agent for new programming that prepares students for todays business world combining technological fluency (e.g. AI integration; data analytics) with critical thinking ethical stewardship and environmental sustainability. The ED will drive an aggressive enrollment strategy foron campus and online programs and will grow and maintainproductive relationships with local and regional businesspartners to ensure all students have experiential learning opportunities and employment opportunities post graduation.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Ability to develop articulate and sell a vision for a School of Business and create strong brand positioning.
Ability to align the School of Business academic mission and curriculum with market reality.
Strong knowledge of current and emerging skills needed for todays world of business in particular AI data analytics and ESG
Ability to build pipelines for internships community based projects and service.
Ability to develop productive relationships with external stakeholders and fundraise.
Experience with strategic planning and inspiring teams to work towards a common goal
Ability to serve as a change agent that drives innovation in the curriculum and expands faculty expertise.
Commitment to ensuring students gain the skills needed and the moral and ethical grounding needed to enhance the world.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to change management
Adherence to high standards of academic excellence
Education and Experience:
A terminal degree in business (MBA PhD or DBA) or related field required.
Proven track record of leadership in a for- or non-profit entrepreneurial-oriented business/organization.
Experience in higher education preferably in a leadership role such as department chair or program director and a minimum of 5 years teaching including in-person and online.
Experience developing microcredentials to support workforce readiness and ensure learners have the knowledge and skills needed for todays evolving business needs.
Demonstrable experience building positive relationships with business partners.
