Works under the direction of the Non-Invasive Diagnostics Supervisor for The Heart Center and the Electrophysiology Medical diagnostic procedures provided by the Non-Invasive Diagnostics Department; and oversees the daily operation of Holter monitor analysis and report in operation of the Exercise Lab and Cardiac Rehab service line in direct collaboration with the Exercise Physiologist role.


Job Description:


Essential Functions:

  • Ability to detect heart arrhythmias and recognize emergency conditions where immediate intervention is necessary.
  • Detects arrhythmias and conduction disturbances and records heart actions for diagnosis.
  • Conducts numerous diagnostic testing covering a wide range of patient conditions and ages.
  • Creates documentation as a guide to coach others in developing diagnostic procedural skills.
  • Analyzes data from heart monitoring devices utilizing analysis software; also assists in the facilitation of other monitor types such as long-term and 30-day event monitors.
  • Analyzes heart rhythm and metabolic data from diagnostic tests.
  • Describes key components of monitoring patients responses and reactions during cardiac testing.
  • Performs equipment calibration and maintenance of cardiology equipment.

Education Requirement:

Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology required.


Licensure Requirement:

Certifications:

CPR PALS and ACLS Certifications required.

ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist Certification preferred.


Skills:

Strong written verbal and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work with patients of all ages (pediatric to adult).

Ability to function with flexibility and adaptability to an ever changing and fast paced environment.


Experience:

Two years of experience in a Cardiology healthcare setting preferred.
