Role Summary
Our IT teams support that mission by building applications and products that serve our customers.Werelooking for an Investment ManagementSoftware Engineer Specialist that is interested in software evolution and innovation within an Investment Technology team. The ideal candidate would be passionate about applying modern engineering principles for building and delivering software tomarket.
Primary responsibilities as a very Hands-on Developer for this position are todemonstratetechnicalproficiencyand use of standard methodologies in our software development team. You will work closely with our Technical Leads Product Ownersand Architects toidentifyand implement solutions. These solutions will be delivered to our clients through Agile development.
AtACI ourSoftwareEngineerscombine the best cloud native (AWS) tools to build ETL pipelines data analysis applications scalable microservices and message driven applications. The goal is to deliver applications for risk management investment analyticsinvestmentoperationsand alpha generating portfoliooperationsfor equities credit and multi-asset (FOFs) and alternative investment strategies.Weoperatea cloud first technology stack consisting of the following technologies
Python (Pandas NumPy)
AWS S3Step FunctionsLambdas Glue Athena Aurora/RDS (PostgreSQL) Redshift
Java Spring Batch and Spring Boot
SQL Server IBM LUW DB2
OpenShift (Kubernetes Docker)
The role reports to the Director Investments Performance Reporting Digital and Analytics.
This hybrid position will be based out of our Kansas City Missouri office.

Engage with Product Owners/Managers to understandrequirements
Create solutions for Investment Management Research and reporting
Automate manual processesfor productivity improvement
Empower portfolio management and research teams so they can build data driven solutions
Building relationships with internal business partners and vendors

What You Bring to the Team (Required)
Bachelors degree in computer science finance or business or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
A minimum of three years application development and support experience in the following: Python Pandas and NumPy. AWS S3 Step Functions Lambdas SNS SQS Glue (or Apache Spark)
Strong demonstrable experience in data modeling for relational (SQL) and NoSQL applications. The following is preferred: SQL Server PostgreSQL DB2
Strong understanding of architectural and software design patterns
Strong written and verbal communication skills and a passion for architectural and technical documentation
Broad knowledge of software engineering and testing methodologies
Experience working in an Agile Framework
Demonstrates the American Century Investments Winning Behaviors: Client Focused Courageous and Accountable Collaborative Curious and Adaptable Competitively Driven
Additional Assets (Preferred)
Cloud native and AWS development is a strong plus
Experience with Investment Management data and with data vendors (Bloomberg FactSet etc.) is a strong plus
