Manager Group Accounting (m/f/d)

We are Group Finance & Tax a diverse highly qualified team of over 70 colleagues based in Metzingen. Our ambition is clear: we aim to become a leading technology-driven Finance & Tax organization that supports our business with reliable figures strong governance and forward-looking insights.

To further strengthen our Group Accounting function we are looking for you as Manager Group Accounting (f/m/d). In this role you will work as a subject matter expert within the Group Accounting team oversee a portfolio of selected group entities and make a key contribution to the preparation of the consolidated financial statements. You will be reporting to the Team Lead Group Accounting.

What you can expect:
  • Supporting the preparation analysis and quality assurance of the monthly quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Take responsibility for your assigned domestic and international subsidiaries: supporting local finance teams in the IFRS-compliant accounting of business transactions and in the preparation of reporting packages
  • Supporting the development and safeguarding of strong accounting governance through group-wide accounting policies (Accounting Manual) standards documentation and monitoring
  • Contributing to further development and maintenance of our Group Accounting policies and ensuring a consistent application in your assigned subsidiaries
  • Acting as a key contact for IFRS-related topics (e.g. revenue recognition leases inventories intangible assets provisions) for your assigned subsidiaries in close collaboration with local finance teams and other group functions
  • Supporting in assessing the accounting treatment of special transactions (e.g. M&A transactions impairment tests intra-group reorganizations)
  • Contributing to the management and further development of group consolidation processes including intercompany reconciliation and eliminations
  • Analyzing variances and earnings developments in your area of responsibility and preparing for internal reporting
  • Supporting the preparation coordination and follow-up of group audit procedures in collaboration with our external auditors
  • Identifying and assisting to implement process improvements and digitalization opportunities in Group Accounting including documentation testing and roll-out
  • Actively contributing to continuous improvement within Group Finance & Tax participating in department-wide initiatives and enabling structured knowledge transfer (best practices / documentation technical support within the team)
Your profile:
  • Successfully completed a degree in business administration or economics with a focus on accounting or auditing
  • About 5 years of work experience in group accounting or auditing with a focus on consolidated financial statements (IFRS) ideally in an internationally operating and publicly listed company
  • Sound knowledge of international accounting (IFRS); knowledge of the German Commercial Code (HGB) is an advantage
  • Very good understanding of group structures consolidation methods and intercompany processes
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills coupled with strong teamwork and communication skills towards interface departments and subsidiary companies
  • Proficiency in data handling and reporting tools as well as accounting and consolidation software (SAP FI/CO SEM BCS)
  • Ability to articulate complex accounting issues clearly with very good German and English in speaking and writing
  • Team-oriented and proactive in your way of working enjoy taking responsibility and personal accountability and driving topics forward and convincing stakeholders at different levels
