Advanced Network Security Engineer

Job Summary
The Network Security Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operations maintenance and continuous improvement of perimeter security services across global data centers and cloud environments. This role focuses on firewall proxy and zero-trust solutions ensuring secure reliable connectivity while proactively identifying risks and driving improvements.
You will act as a key technical resource collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues implement solutions and support ongoing infrastructure initiatives including coordination with teams supporting Operational Technology (OT) environments.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support perimeter security technologies including firewalls proxies and zero-trust platforms across on-prem and cloud environments
- Administer and optimize solutions from key vendors such as Check Point (firewalls) and Zscaler (zero trust / proxy)
- Install configure and maintain network security hardware and software
- Monitor system performance troubleshoot issues and ensure high availability of services
- Contribute to infrastructure projects including design deployment and optimization of security solutions
- Proactively identify risks inefficiencies and improvement opportunities; propose and implement solutions
- Maintain accurate documentation (architecture diagrams procedures runbooks)
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams including coordination with OT security teams where network and industrial environments intersect
- Provide support for service requests and incidents and participate in on-call rotation
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science technology engineering mathematics
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT with a strong focus on network security
- Hands-on experience with enterprise firewall technologies preferably Check Point
- Experience with secure web gateway / zero trust platforms preferably Zscaler
- Experience designing and deploying firewall solutions in data center environments (3 years)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure AWS or VMware NSX (2 years)
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP routing switching VPNs)
- Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills
WE VALUE
- Experience supporting or collaborating with OT (Operational Technology) or industrial network environments
- Experience working in global or multi-data center environments
- Familiarity with infrastructure documentation and standard operational processes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with automation or scripting (e.g. Python PowerShell)
- Exposure to security frameworks and best practices
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Check Point Zscaler CCNP Security CISSP)
