Advanced Network Security Engineer

The Network Security Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operations maintenance and continuous improvement of perimeter security services across global data centers and cloud environments. This role focuses on firewall proxy and zero-trust solutions ensuring secure reliable connectivity while proactively identifying risks and driving improvements.

You will act as a key technical resource collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues implement solutions and support ongoing infrastructure initiatives including coordination with teams supporting Operational Technology (OT) environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support perimeter security technologies including firewalls proxies and zero-trust platforms across on-prem and cloud environments
• Administer and optimize solutions from key vendors such as Check Point (firewalls) and Zscaler (zero trust / proxy)
• Install configure and maintain network security hardware and software
• Monitor system performance troubleshoot issues and ensure high availability of services
• Contribute to infrastructure projects including design deployment and optimization of security solutions
• Proactively identify risks inefficiencies and improvement opportunities; propose and implement solutions
• Maintain accurate documentation (architecture diagrams procedures runbooks)
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams including coordination with OT security teams where network and industrial environments intersect
• Provide support for service requests and incidents and participate in on-call rotation

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science technology engineering mathematics
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT with a strong focus on network security
• Hands-on experience with enterprise firewall technologies preferably Check Point
• Experience with secure web gateway / zero trust platforms preferably Zscaler
• Experience designing and deploying firewall solutions in data center environments (3 years)
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure AWS or VMware NSX (2 years)
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP routing switching VPNs)
• Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills

• Experience working in global or multi-data center environments
• Familiarity with infrastructure documentation and standard operational processes
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with automation or scripting (e.g. Python PowerShell)
• Exposure to security frameworks and best practices
• Relevant certifications (e.g. Check Point Zscaler CCNP Security CISSP)
