We are currently looking for:
Head of Inspection Services and Maintenance Manager
Location: Filton Bristol
Contract: Full time 37.5 hours per week
Key Duties
Head of Inspection Services:
Manage the delivery of all NDT inspection activity including coordinating team activities task allocation resourcing and leave management budget and spend monitoring of workflows and customer delivery
Ensuring the competence of all personnel engaged in maintenance by establishing a programme of training and continuation training (in conjunction with the Compliance
Monitoring Manager)Support EN4179 and Part145 inspection activities through provision of expertise and where required hands on inspection activities in house and at customer facilities
Travel nationally and (occasionally) internationally to support inspection or Level 3 consultancy services as required
Perform the role of Responsible Level 3 for internal or external requirements in at least one method
Work with the local Quality Manager to support all internal and external audits (Nadcap CAA/EASA & customer specific)
Work with the leadership team to set out annual budgets and goals including setting team appraisal objectives and undertaking reviews
Support the leadership team during occasional recruitment through review of candidates attending interviews and the onboarding process
Work with Quality and Health and Safety functions to ensure awareness of all Policies and Procedures and support maintenance and updating of documentation as required
Liaise with transnational partners providing key performance indicator data and supporting any harmonisation activities (such as alignment of quality documentation and procedures)
Work with the Sales function and MD to support the business development pipeline activities processing requests for quotation including scoping and costing activities
Represent Testia at occasional marketing events such as trade shows and exhibitions assisting the Sales and Marketing function in the coordination of events
Support the management of tooling and equipment through the supervision of a team member holding responsibility for this function
Maintenance Manager:
Notifying the Accountable Manager whenever deficiencies emerge that require their attention in respect of finance and the acceptability of standards
Ensuring through the workforce under their control that the quality of workmanship in the final product is to a standard acceptable to the organisation and the CAA
Keeping a record of all training and experience of maintenance-related personnel
Responsible for providing feedback to Compliance about the services provided by contracted Organisations and Subcontractors
Responding to quality deficiencies in the area of activity for which they are responsible which arise from independent Compliance Audits
Responsibility to the Accountable Manager with other nominated management personnel that in these respects the Part-145 approved maintenance organisation is in compliance with Part-145 requirements
Ensuring that all Airworthiness Directives and other relevant mandatory requirements specified by the customer are complied with when due
Ensuring in conjunction with the other persons nominated and with relation to the scope of work for which the company is approved that the maintenance organisation is in compliance with Part 145 requirements
Key Criteria
Team management or coordination experience
Qualification / certification in accordance with EN4179 Level 2 or 3 in some or all of the following methods:
UT - Conventional (Phased Array desirable)
PT
ET - Conventional (Array desirable)
RT - Film & Non Film
MT
Documented experience hours for all NDT methods held.
Documented Aerospace / Aircraft work experience hours.
Experience of In-service / manufacturing inspection.
Experience in the inspection of metallic and composite components.
Capable of working independently using own initiative to resolve problems encountered.
Ability to work in a team showing resilience and flexibility to meet role and customer demands.
Driving licence class B
Availability to travel at reasonable notice and work at customer sites on an overnight basis.
Ability to attain UK SC (Security Check) clearance.
Proficient in verbal and written English.
