Job Summary
The main responsibility of this position is to ensure effective operation of the boiler plant in accordance to OHS Act and applicable Regulations. This role will be responsible for all activities within the specific plant area which can include plant operation cleaning quality and autonomous maintenance.
Required Skills:
- Effective operation of boiler plant according to operating procedures
- Effectively adjust process within parameters to ensure effective steam pressure output is maintained to plants within these parameters
- Report all deviations on a continuous basis
- Ensure daily log sheets master cleaning schedules are kept up to date per shift
- Measurement and count of process chemicals screening and recording process parameters and ensure it is captured on control sheets per shift
- Report on maintenance issues
- Assist maintenance teams during plant shutdown periods with general task and will also ensure plant equipment is cleaned when available during downtime
- Assist maintenance department with autonomous maintenance tasks
- Responsible for effective housekeeping of the area of responsibility including:
- Correct cleaning equipment are available
- Reporting of all default cleaning equipment
- Performing cleaning tasks according to correct procedure and work instruction
- The correct type and amount of chemical is available and used to do the cleaning as prescribed in the work instruction
- Safe handling of the cleaning chemicals used
- All staff has the correct PPE to perform cleaning
Health and Safety
- Participate in safety forums and attend relevant training/programmes
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Comply with safety policies and procedures
- Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times
