Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and committed Teacher of French to join a highly regarded independent school in Cheshire. This is an excellent role for an MFL specialist who enjoys academic rigour and wants to work with motivated pupils in a calm purposeful environment where high standards strong relationships and wider opportunity are central to school life.

About the Role

As Teacher of French you will teach across KS3KS5 (depending on experience and timetable) delivering engaging lessons that build fluency accuracy and cultural understanding. You will support pupils to:

  • Speak confidently through structured practice and purposeful conversation

  • Build secure grammar and vocabulary over time

  • Read and translate increasingly challenging texts

  • Write accurately and expressively with clear modelling and feedback

  • Prepare strongly for GCSE and A-Level through deliberate practice and exam technique

  • Location: Cheshire

  • Start Date: ASAP / next term (or by agreement)

  • Contract: Full-time permanent (or as agreed)

  • Salary: Competitive dependent on experience


What the School is Looking For

  • QTS (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification)

  • Strong subject knowledge in French

  • Ability to teach confidently across KS3KS4 (KS5 desirable)

  • High expectations and strong classroom practice

  • Willingness to contribute to wider school life and enrichment
