Job Summary

About the Role

As ECT History Teacher you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 delivering engaging lessons that build pupils historical knowledge and key disciplinary skills. You will be supported to deliver a well-sequenced curriculum that develops:

  • Strong historical knowledge across a range of periods and themes

  • Disciplinary thinking: causation significance change and continuity

  • Source analysis and interpretation through structured practice

  • Confident extended writing through modelling and feedback

  • GCSE confidence through deliberate practice and clear routines


ECT Support and Development

You will benefit from a strong ECT programme including:

  • A dedicated subject mentor and regular coaching

  • Protected time for training planning and reflection

  • Opportunities to observe experienced colleagues

  • Support with behaviour routines assessment and adaptive teaching

  • Shared resources and collaborative planning to reduce workload


Key Information

  • Location: Southend-on-Sea Essex

  • Start Date: September 2026 (or by agreement)

  • Contract: Full-time permanent

  • Salary: MPS (ECT)
