Job Summary
About the role
The Synergen Operations team provides operational and maintenance support across Synergen Powers generation assets in South Australia. We are seeking a Gas Turbine Support Technician to support operational performance and deliver minor projects across the Synergen portfolio working closely with site teams and external service providers.
Based primarily at one Synergen site this role involves regular travel to other ENGIE assets in South Australia supporting the operation monitoring and maintenance of gas turbine generators and associated plant.
Reporting to the Operations Manager with functional direction from the Maintenance Coordinator and Site Managers this role plays a key part in maintaining safe reliable and compliant operations across multiple sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting routine emergency and projectbased maintenance activities across gas turbine and associated electrical and control systems.
- Providing technical support and faultfinding for control systems instrumentation protection systems and associated equipment.
- Assisting with plant modifications upgrades and commissioning activities to improve asset reliability and performance.
- Supervising contractors and external service providers to ensure safe compliant and effective delivery of works.
- Maintaining accurate site documentation drawings and records to reflect asbuilt plant conditions.
- Contributing to a strong safety culture by identifying hazards managing risks and complying with all health safety and environmental requirements.
About you
You are a technically minded professional who enjoys working across operational sites and supporting complex plant in a safetycritical environment. You bring a collaborative mindset strong problemsolving skills and a commitment to safe and reliable power generation.
You will also bring:
- A technical qualification in Electrical Instrumentation & Control Electrotechnology Mechatronics or a related discipline.
- Experience in power generation or heavy industrial environments ideally with exposure to gas turbine or steam turbine plant.
- Knowledge of electrical control and instrumentation systems including older technology and rotating plant.
- Experience supervising contractors and working with external service providers on live operational sites.
- The ability to contribute to maintenance planning technical documentation and continuous improvement activities.
- A current Australian drivers licence and willingness to travel regularly across South Australian sites.
Experience with the National Electricity Market (NEM) generator performance standards protection systems or commissioning activities will be highly regarded as will the ability to support contract development and technical specifications.
