Southwest Elementary is seeking a passionate and dedicated 4th Grade ELA Teacher for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a vibrant classroom environment that encourages a love of reading writing and communication. This role involves developing and implementing engaging standards-based lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students utilizing a variety of instructional strategies and fostering critical thinking and literacy skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Planning and Delivery:
Develop and implement daily and unit lesson plans for 4th-grade ELA aligned with Oklahoma Academic Standards and district curriculum.
Utilize a variety of teaching methods instructional materials and technologies to engage students and accommodate different learning styles.
Foster a classroom environment conducive to learning and promote high levels of student engagement in reading writing speaking and listening.
Integrate age-appropriate literacy skills and strategies across the ELA curriculum.
Assessment and Data Analysis:
Administer and analyze various forms of assessment (formative summative diagnostic) to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
Use student data to differentiate instruction and provide targeted support to meet individual student needs.
Maintain accurate and timely records of student achievement and growth.
Classroom Management and Environment:
Establish and maintain a positive respectful and well-managed classroom environment that promotes a love of learning.
Implement effective classroom management strategies consistent with school-wide expectations.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate effectively and regularly with students parents/guardians administrators and colleagues regarding student progress classroom activities and school events.
Collaborate with fellow 4th-grade teachers ELA specialists and other staff to enhance the instructional program and support student success.
Participate in grade-level meetings professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives.
Professional Responsibilities:
Stay current with best practices in ELA instruction and elementary education.
Adhere to all school and district policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or district administration.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate
Demonstrated knowledge of effective ELA instructional strategies for elementary students.
Understanding of the Oklahoma Academic Standards for English Language Arts.
Strong classroom management skills.
Excellent communication collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Previous experience teaching elementary grades is preferred.
