Patients may be admitted from the ED transferred in from other units or directly admitted by a Physician. Patients are often on Cardizem drips Nitroglycerin drips Lasix drips and Heparin drips. We also care for NSTEMI Post-Pacemaker and Post-Cardiac Cath Lab patients (both with and without interventions). Patient Population: Davenport 8 s primary diagnoses are CHF Atrial Fibrillation Pulmonary Embolism and Pneumonia. We also have patients coming in with EtOH and Dementia with cardiac co-morbidities. Occasional Surgical patients as of Experience Required: 2 years. Floating Required: Travelers are required to float to applicable units when needed. Rotating Shifts Required: Day Rotators may be rotated between (7a-7p 11a-11p or 7p-7a) when needed. Rotation frequency is usually low. Night positions do not rotate. Skill Sets Required: Travelers should have knowledge on cardiac drips and be able to interpret Tele Strips. Nursing care for patients post cardiac catheterization and pacemaker is needed but not required. Clinician to Patient Ratio: The RN to patient ratio on Day and Evening shifts is 1:4 with max of 5. The Night shift is 1:5-6. Day shift on weekdays includes a Charge RN without a patient assignment. Bed Count: 37 Beds 10 semi-private rooms 1 quadruple room 1 triple room 10 private rooms and 1 negative pressure : 37. EMR (Charting System): EPIC. Certifications Required: Active MA RN License. AHA BLS certification. Telemetry Certification.
