Job Overview
Tekberry is seeking a detail-oriented Coating Utility Technician (Inspection) to support manufacturing operations for our client a global leader in advanced materials and optical technologies. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production efficiency by supporting machine setup material handling inspection activities and ensuring a clean compliant production environment.
The technician will work closely with production operators and team leads to support coating operations perform basic inspection tasks and maintain accurate documentation to ensure product quality and traceability.

Key Responsibilities
Core Production Support
Assist with machine setup and teardown for coating operations
Prepare machines and workstations (cleaning loading materials staging components)
Support production flow by ensuring materials tools and parts are readily available
Move raw materials and finished components between workstations
Inspection & Quality Support
Perform basic visual inspections for defects contamination or cosmetic issues
Ensure materials meet cleanliness and labeling standards
Support adherence to ISO GMP and internal quality standards
Assist in maintaining product traceability and inspection documentation
Administrative & Documentation
Enter production data into systems (work orders inventory transactions)
Maintain accurate logs and records for compliance and traceability
Update production status boards or digital dashboards
Logistics & Material Handling
Transfer materials and finished goods between work areas
Coordinate with shipping and receiving teams as needed
Assist with cycle counts and inventory tracking
Sanitation & Safety
Perform routine cleaning of work areas equipment and production stations
Dispose of waste (including hazardous materials if trained) according to procedures
Follow all PPE and cleanroom protocols
Report safety hazards or equipment issues promptly
Training & Team Support
Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Shadow experienced operators and support onboarding of new team members
Communicate effectively with team members supervisors and cross-functional teams
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
1 3 years of experience in manufacturing or production environments
Experience following detailed work instructions and process checklists
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
Ability to work safely within regulated production environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with inspection tasks especially glass or cosmetic inspection
Experience supporting machine setup and teardown in manufacturing environments
Experience working in cleanroom or controlled environments
Familiarity with production processes material handling or surface preparation
Work Environment
100% onsite in Fairport NY
B Shift schedule (1:00 PM 9:30 PM)
Cleanroom manufacturing environment
PPE required (safety shoes safety glasses gloves cleanroom garments etc.)
Use of basic hand tools (Allen keys screwdrivers wrenches)
Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds (with assistance as needed)
Overtime may be required based on production needs
