Job Title: Senior Quality Inspector (Contract Training Focus) Location: Gardena CA Shift: 1st Shift Pay Rate: Up to $50/hour
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quality Inspector for a contract assignment focused on training and developing machinists on inspection techniques and quality standards within a precision manufacturing environment.
This role will serve as a subject matter expert on the shop floor ensuring that machining personnel are properly trained to meet tight tolerance and aerospace-level quality requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesInspection Leadership
Perform and oversee first article in-process and final inspections
Interpret complex blueprints GD&T and specifications
Ensure compliance with strict quality and tolerance requirements
Support resolution of non-conformances and quality issues
Training & Development (Primary Focus)
Train machinists and operators on inspection methods tools and best practices
Educate teams on blueprint reading GD&T and quality standards
Reinforce proper use of precision measuring instruments
Act as a floor-level mentor and technical resource
Process Improvement & Compliance
Evaluate current inspection practices and recommend improvements
Standardize inspection procedures and training methods
Ensure adherence to quality systems and documentation requirements
Partner with production and engineering to improve overall quality performance
QualificationsRequired
7 years of experience in quality inspection within a machining environment
Deep expertise in blueprint reading and GD&T
Strong hands-on experience with precision measuring tools and inspection methods
Proven ability to train mentor or lead others on the shop floor
Experience with tight tolerance high-precision components
Preferred
Experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing environments
Background as a lead inspector or quality trainer
Familiarity with SPC first article inspection (FAI) and quality documentation systems
Strong understanding of CNC machining processes (lathe and/or mill)
