Eagle Metalcraft in East Syracuse is seeking a highly skilled Senior Precision Sheet Metal Technician with deep expertise in press brake operations and automated bending systems. This role is responsible for producing high-precision components optimizing forming processes and leading setup and programming efforts to ensure efficiency repeatability and quality in a modern fabrication environment.
Responsibilities
Set up program and operate CNC press brakes (e.g. Amada Trumpf etc.)
Develop and optimize bend programs including offline programming where applicable
Interpret complex engineering drawings including GD&T and tight-tolerance requirements
Determine bend sequences tooling selection and tonnage requirements
Lead setup of automated bending systems (robotic loading/unloading panel benders or integrated cells)
Troubleshoot forming issues such as springback distortion and tolerance stack-up
Collaborate with engineering to improve part design for manufacturability (DFM)
Reduce setup times and improve throughput using lean techniques
Train and mentor junior operators and brake technicians
Perform first article inspections and in-process quality checks
Maintain tooling dies and equipment in optimal condition
Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards

Qualifications
Qualifications
710 years of precision sheet metal fabrication experience
Advanced expertise in CNC press brake setup and programming
Experience with automated bending systems or robotic brake cells
Strong understanding of material behavior (aluminum stainless CRS etc.)
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T
Experience with offline programming software (e.g. Delem Amada VPSS Trumpf TruTops Bend etc.)
Proven ability to hold tight tolerances in production environments
Preferred Skills
Experience with panel benders or fully automated bending cells
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and process optimization
Tooling design or custom fixture experience
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
Work Environment
Shop floor-based in a precision fabrication environment
Hands-on role requiring interaction with machines tooling and production teams
