Role and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Linux Server Administrator to join our dynamic team. Your primary responsibility is to provide technical guidance and support to clients in managing maintaining and troubleshooting Linux-based servers. Reporting to the IT Manager the Linux Administrator will be responsible for the following:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical solutions to meet their business objectives.
- Install and configure Linux servers including hardware and software and monitor and manage them to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network hardware and software issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Ensure the security of the Linux environment by implementing and managing access controls firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster.
- Manage user accounts permissions and access controls and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Constantly monitor system performance and optimize it to improve the systems response time scalability and availability.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and end-users to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Configure and maintain web servers application servers database servers and other infrastructure components.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and recommend solutions that align with the business needs of clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in administration and maintenance of Linux server infra in a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Experience with Qualys or similar tools for conducting vulnerability assessments and remediation plans.
- Understanding of IT security protocols including network security firewalls antivirus tools and vulnerability management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.
- Good Understanding of ITIL framework.
