Job Summary

SCOPE OF WORK

The candidate will own the following workstreams collaborating closely with the Senior Design Manager and design team:

  • Information Architecture
    Document the structural organization of WDF including content types navigation models hierarchy and relationships between platform components.
  • Journey Mapping
    Develop end-to-end user journey maps across key WDF personas capturing touchpoints decisions pain points and system states.
  • Task Flows
    Create detailed task flow documentation covering happy paths edge cases error states and branching logic across WDF interactions.
  • Unification Toolkit
    Capture and codify design principles patterns and decision frameworks to ensure consistency across WDF platforms.
  • Pattern Library
    Document reusable WDF-specific UI patterns with usage guidelines interaction specifications and rationale structured for engineering handoff and cross-team usage.
CORE SKILLS REQUIRED
Skill Area What We Need
Information Architecture Ability to structure complex multi-system platforms into clear navigable models-not limited to sitemaps
Journey Mapping Experience with multi-persona multi-touchpoint journeys; enterprise or platform product experience preferred
Task Flow Documentation Strong documentation skills with ability to capture system states branching logic and error conditions
Design System / Pattern Documentation Experience building or contributing to pattern libraries; strong understanding of reuse logic and guidelines
Visual Communication Proficiency in Figma with strong diagramming and annotation capabilities
Technical Writing Ability to create clear usage guidelines decision rationale and structured documentation
Stakeholder Synthesis Skilled in extracting insights from cross-functional teams and translating them into structured outputs
Systems Thinking Strong understanding of how components integrate within broader platform architecture
EXPERIENCE PROFILE

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Proven experience in UX design with a focus on documentation design systems or platform-level Information Architecture
  • Ownership of design blueprints product wikis or system documentation end-to-end
  • Experience working in enterprise software SaaS platforms or data-intensive products
  • A portfolio demonstrating ability to structure complex and ambiguous domains effectively
  • Strong collaboration skills across designers PMs and engineers for validation and approvals
  • Experience working in Agile/sprint environments with minimal supervision

Note: This role requires strong documentation and systems expertise. Candidates focused purely on interaction or delivery design are not suitable.

  • WDF Design Blueprint is well-structured navigable and easily usable by designers engineers and product managers
  • Pattern Library and Unification Toolkit include clear usage guidelines not just visual references
  • Journey maps and task flows capture multi-persona scenarios and system states beyond happy paths
  • Documentation is scalable maintainable and designed for long-term use
  • The contractor works independently proactively addressing blockers with minimal oversight
PORTFOLIO REVIEW CRITERIA

Reviewers should evaluate:

  • Evidence of systems documentation work (IA diagrams pattern libraries design blueprints product wikis)
  • Quality of annotations and written rationale alongside visual deliverables
  • Experience in enterprise platform or data-product environments (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ownership of work not just team contributions
  • Clarity organization and structure of the portfolio itself
