POSITION: Dean School of Education
DESCRIPTION: East Texas Baptist University invites applications for the Dean of the School of Education. The Dean will provide administrative oversight and strategic leadership for Education programs and will direct a comprehensive plan designed to grow and enhance current programs and lead the process for evaluations for future programs. The position begins May 2026 or when filled.
QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a minimum of five years of full-time experience within Texas public schools and higher education institutions. Higher education experience is expected.
Candidates should have advanced-level experience in the following areas:

Candidates should have advanced-level experience in the following areas:
- Lead as a member of the Universitys Administration
- Serve as a positive role model including setting an example for faculty in teaching student involvement university involvement community and church involvement and scholastic/academic activities.
- Develop and articulate a vision and associated goals for graduate and undergraduate programs
- Review and approve catalog; coordinate all graduate policies and catalog changes
- Oversee the learning environment and support for students
- Work with faculty to identify appropriate program learning outcomes
- Provide supervision to the faculty and staff in the school
- Develop and implement retention strategies including identification of needed academic support or resources for student success
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies for recruiting and enrolling undergraduate graduate and transfer students; including participation New Student Orientation and preview events
- Facilitate and submit curriculum changes for new programs courses and special topic courses
- Coordinate masters and doctorate curriculum proposals and changes along with deans and program directors
- Establish and oversee a budget for the School of Education
- Serve on Deans Council
- Perform other special projects as assigned by the Provost

Employee provides active support of the spiritual intellectual and educational ideals values activities and objectives of East Texas Baptist University; and conforms to Christian standards of faith and service.
