Location: Albany Buffalo Ithaca Long Island (Uniondale) NYC Rochester Syracuse and White Plains NY; Boston MA; Bantam Hartford New Haven and Stamford CT (Hybrid)Experience Level: 4 years of employment-based immigration filings including H1B L1 TN E1/E2 O1 PERM I140 and I485 matters About the Role: Harris Beach Murtha is seeking an associate to join its collaborative Immigration team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced immigration practitioners across offices and practice areas advising and representing corporate and individual clients on a broad range of employmentbased and familybased immigration matters. The work is fastpaced detailoriented and clientfocused providing handson responsibility for preparing and managing complex immigration filings from initial strategy through adjudication before government Immigration Associate will have the opportunity to: Prepare a wide variety of businessbased nonimmigrant petitions including H1B L1 TN E and O1 filingsPrepare immigrant visa petitions including PERM labor certifications and EB1 NIW EB2 and EB3 classificationsAssist healthcare clients with Schedule A Nurse petitions J1 waiver applications and related immigration mattersAdvise clients on Form I9 compliance and EVerify issuesDirectly represent clients before U.S. government agenciesReview and approve immigration petitions applications and supporting evidence prior to submissionCollaborate with partners and colleagues to provide timely strategic and practical immigration counselMaintain regular communication with clients to ensure they are informed of case progress and developmentsWork Environment and Expectations: A hybrid work opportunity in one of Harris Beach Murthas officesEngagement in sophisticated employmentbased immigration work on behalf of a diverse client baseMinimum annual billable requirement of 1800 hoursApplications are encouraged and desired if you have: Admission to the New York Connecticut and/or Massachusetts bar or eligible for admission via exam or reciprocityJuris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school Excellent research writing and verbal communication skillsThe ability to function effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environmentStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesDemonstrated ability to rapidly absorb and analyze new informationA high level of professionalism conscientiousness and responsibilityA positive flexible and cooperative attitudeMilitary experience welcomeSalary information below will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position and geographic Buffalo Ithaca Rochester Syracuse NY: $145000 - $180000Long Island (Uniondale) and White Plains NY: $150000 - $185000New York NY:$155000 - $185000Harris Beach Murtha is not accepting candidate submissions from recruiting agencies for this position during the first two weeks after posting.
