Summary
We are looking for a Senior Backend-focused Developer to join our team. Your mission will be to support the development and maintenance of our network automation platforms using a variety of cutting-edge technologies. You will work on projects that will shape the future of Bells and its clients networks collaborating closely with other developers and experts. This role requires proven experience in designing developing and deploying high-quality software applications. You will play a key role in designing and implementing complex features as well as mentoring junior developers and ensuring the security and performance of our applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain robust scalable and high-performance backend APIs and servicesAct as an expert on the evolution of the software architecture of an internally developed network automation platform.
- Participate in the management of the software platforms databases.
- Lead initiatives to improve the platform.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate new functionalities
- Ensure code quality through code reviews and exhaustive testing of the solution.
- Support other team members and exercise technical leadership.
- Proactively solve problems: identify critical needs and take decisive measures to respond effectively.
- Innovate and continuously improve: actively research and implement new ideas and innovative solutions proactively exploring new domains and growth opportunities.
- Apply complex problem-solving methodologies to intricate challenges providing effective solutions.
Critical Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development.
- Excellent proficiency in Python and a modern backend framework (e.g. FastAPI).
- Good knowledge of TypeScript and familiarity with a frontend framework like .
- Strong understanding of microservices software architecture concepts.
- Experience with SQL databases.
- Experience working in an Agile software development team.
- Good knowledge of object-oriented programming and SOLID principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cloud computing Azure AWS OpenShift (public and/or private).
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker Kubernetes or similar.
- Experience with event-driven architecture (Kafka RabbitMQ etc.)
- Experience in frontend development.
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
