Position Overview

• Liberty Local Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher for the 3rd grade. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that foster student curiosity and critical thinking while providing a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum aligned with state educational standards for 3rd grade.
• Design and deliver interactive lessons that encompass various teaching methods including group activities hands-on projects and technology integration.
• Assess student learning through regular evaluations assignments and class participation providing constructive feedback to guide student improvement.
• Facilitate discussions that connect classroom learning to real-world situations encouraging students to think critically and creatively.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to integrate cross-curricular learning experiences.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to remain current with educational best practices and innovations.
• Communicate effectively with students parents and administrative staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification for elementary education; experience or additional training in teaching 3rd grade preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement engaging lesson plans.
• Strong understanding of childhood development and age-appropriate instructional strategies.
• Ability to create an inclusive learning environment that accommodates diverse learners.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with differentiated instruction and a variety of assessment techniques.
• Familiarity with current educational trends and methodologies in elementary education.
• Proven ability to motivate students and engage them in extracurricular activities.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand walk and engage with students and staff for extended periods.

Additional Information

• The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
