The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the universitys missions and goals of teaching research patient care outreach and public service.

Function/Duties of Position
Clinical Activities (not related to teaching or research):
- Practice that emanates from the School of Nursing is expected to support the teaching practice and research missions of the the practice environment teaching occurs concurrently with clinical activities.
- The primary expectation is the provision of full-scope clinical midwifery services to patients in the faculty practice
Scholarly Activities (research/writing abstracts grant supported work presentations etc.):
- Participates in scholarly activities based on faculty rank.
Education Activities (include types of teaching and types of student taught):
- Clinical education and supervision of graduate nurse-midwifery students (and other students) in the provision of the services to patients in faculty practices. Midwifery students are with faculty 90% of the time.
- Mentors and advises students.
Service Activities:
- These activities could include faculty meetings committee membership professional activities and other responsibilities as assigned by the Program or Academic Director.
- Participates in faculty governance; additional engagement based on rank.
Administrative Activities:
- As negotiated.
Other Activities:
- The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the universitys missions and goals of teaching research patient care outreach and public service.
Required Qualifications
Education (Degree dependent on academic program type and rank of position.):
- Instructor: MSN or equivalent
- Assistant Professor Associate Professor Professor: PhD/DNP or equivalent
Registrations Certifications and/or Licenses (Current licensure & certifications could be required depending on position and academic program.):
- Oregon RN license
- Oregon APRN license
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- AMCB/ACNM Certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Experience (Experience dependent on academic program type and rank of position.):
- 2 years of clinical practice experience
Additional Details
Work Expectations:
Working Conditions (such as travel expectations exposure to auditory and visual stimulation frequent interruptions etc.):
- Frequent Interruptions in an environment of frequent changes and fluctuations
- May be exposed to excessive auditory and visual stimulation.
- May be required to attend out of town conferences according to School of Nursing travel and reimbursement policies.
- May be exposed to body fluids tissue possible radiation exposure and infectious processes.
- Subject to computer work for several hours as needed.
- Able to use all appropriate patient care equipment and office equipment within work area.
Physical Requirement/Demands of the Position (take off unapplicable sections as needed):
- Standing: On concrete vinyl or carpeting up to 4 hours per day and intermittently
- Sitting: Chair or stool continuous up to 8 hours per day and intermittently
- Changing Positions: Intermittently as needed.
- Walking: Intermittently up to 4 hours per day on concrete vinyl and carpeting
- Carrying: Up to 50 pounds (supplies equipment books papers etc) for intermittent periods and distances.
- Lifting: Up to 50 pounds (patients equipment supplies books etc) Intermittent throughout the day
- Pushing/Pulling: Up to 100 pounds intermittent throughout the day
- Bending: From the waist and knees frequently throughout the day
- Reaching/Handling: Fine manipulation repetitive gross motor requiring full ROM in upper extremeties including overhead reaching.
- Twisting: All ROM required intermittent periods throughout the day
- Climbing: Staircase intermittently throughout the day
Weekend Holiday Evening Night and Call Expectations:
- Day weekend holiday and night shifts are required
