SLATE NY is currently searching for ahost who would be responsible for welcoming guests managing the seating flow to optimize service and handling reservations. Also manage the wait list answer phone calls maintain front-of-house cleanliness and supporting wait staff during busy shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting & Seating: Welcoming guests warmly managing the floor plan/seating chart and escorting guests to tables.
- Reservation & Wait list Management: Providing accurate wait time estimates and managing booking systems.
- Customer Service: Answering phone calls taking reservations and addressing guest questions or complaints.
- Area Maintenance: Cleaning menus organizing the host stand keeping accurate inventory of games and maintaining the entryway.
- Support Roles: Assisting FOH staff / covering positions as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication for interacting with guests and staff.
- Customer Service: A friendly professional and welcoming demeanor.
- Multitasking: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks (phone walk-ins) simultaneously.
- Organization: Attention to detail and ability to manage table rotation effectively.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for long periods typically 6-8 hours.
- Basic Technical Skills: Experience with POS systems or reservation software is preferred.
