Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs. The role focuses on creating an inclusive structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes academic social and behavioral success for students.
Key Responsibilities
Develop implement and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Provide specialized instruction tailored to students academic and developmental needs
Adapt curriculum lesson plans and instructional strategies for diverse learners
Monitor and document student progress and adjust instruction as needed
Collaborate with general education teachers therapists and support staff
Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and structured interventions
Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings and reviews
Maintain accurate records in compliance with federal and state regulations
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and goals
Support students social emotional and life skills development
Required Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
Valid Colorado Teaching License with Special Education endorsement (required or eligible)
Experience working with students with disabilities (preferred)
Preferred Skills
Experience with autism spectrum disorders learning disabilities or emotional/behavioral disorders
Familiarity with assistive technology and inclusive classroom practices
Core Skills
Strong knowledge of IEP development and compliance
Classroom management and behavioral intervention strategies
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Organizational and documentation accuracy
Patience empathy and student-centered approach
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary school environment
