Job Title: Diagnostic Technician III Cardiology
Location: Hyannis MA 02601
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Technician III to support cardiology and laboratory services by performing specimen collection and non-invasive cardiac testing. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented patient-focused and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws and collect other clinical specimens ensuring proper patient identification and adherence to safety protocols
- Educate patients on specimen collection procedures and ensure accurate sample handling and transport
- Conduct non-invasive cardiac testing including EKGs Holter monitoring and stress testing in accordance with departmental standards
- Ensure all required documentation and lab forms are completed accurately at the time of service
- Document patient and test information in hospital systems for interpretation and compliance purposes
- Process cardiac test orders and ensure accurate billing information
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding test requirements order changes and workflow updates
- Maintain compliance with PPE and infection control protocols
- Assist nursing units with specimen collection and provide guidance on test requirements
- Train and mentor new staff and students under supervisory guidance
- Identify and report workflow or quality improvement opportunities
- Troubleshoot specimen collection issues and escalate concerns as needed
- Maintain a clean organized and well-stocked work environment including inventory management
- Participate in team meetings training sessions and ongoing professional development activities
- Deliver excellent customer service to patients families and healthcare team members
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy Certification (PBT)
- EKG Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (current)
- Strong communication organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting
