As a Preschool Instructor (PSI) you will lead a teaching team to deliver high-quality research-based early education that supports social emotional physical intellectual and language development. Collaborate with dedicated colleagues in an inclusive school setting implement engaging curricula inspired by developmentally appropriate practices and contribute to program excellence aligned with state standards and WCSC preschool goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
Lead the implementation of WCSC Preschool curriculum
Design and facilitate hands-on developmentally appropriate activities and provocations that advance physical/intellectual competence social-emotional growth positive guidance and language skills
Create and maintain a safe healthy welcoming and well-organized learning environment that encourages exploration creativity and positive relationships
Build strong productive partnerships with families through open communication sharing daily milestones progress updates and involving parents as partners in learning
Supervise children at all times and ensure the program is purposeful and responsive to childrens needs
Complete required documentation for assessments child progress and state compliance measures
Commit to ongoing professionalism including annual professional development
Qualifications
Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required; Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development or related field preferred
At least 13 years of professional experience in preschool child care early education or related settings (more experience preferred for lead roles)
Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices emergent curriculum and child-centered approaches required
Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
Successfully pass all required state school corporation and background checks; meet Indiana minimum education/experience standards for preschool roles
This position earns $21.01 per hour.
Position is paid 26 times a year. Therefore total pay is spread out over the summer months.
This is a part-time position. But it can be combined with driving a school bus for full-time pay and benefits.
